Meet Our Team
Our dedicated team at VisionIn comprises individuals from diverse backgrounds, all united by a common goal.

The Issue
In India, 3.4 million children struggle in school due to uncorrected vision, drastically reducing their learning and future earnings.
Studies estimate that early intervention to correct a child’s sight could increase their lifetime earnings by up to 78%! According to a report(Dhakhwa et al, 2024), a child with poor vision learns approximately half as much as a child with
good vision.
Additionally, in India, one single year of sub-optimal learning due to uncorrected refractive error costs $6.8 billion in future economic productivity loss every year.
Our Mission & Impact
VisionIn works to improve eye health among students in government schools in Bangalore, Chennai, and Pune by providing accessible eye screenings and ensuring timely corrective care.
Through partnerships with specialized ophthalmology professionals, we help identify vision issues early and support access to corrective treatment, including eyeglasses and surgical care, enabling students to learn and thrive.
The Process:

Vision Screening & Identification
Students undergo a series of basic vision screenings at school, including distance vision testing, screening for hyperopia, external eye examination, colour vision assessment, and binocular vision screening.
Students with normal findings are reassured, while those with suspected vision issues, ocular conditions, and previous spectacle users are identified for further evaluation or counselling.

Detailed Eye Examination & Intervention
Students identified in Phase 1 receive a comprehensive eye examination, including refraction and ocular evaluation.
If vision improves to 6/9 or better with correction, spectacles are prescribed, and spectacle fitting measurements are taken.
Students with reduced vision or ocular conditions are referred to a base hospital for further management.

Follow-up, Compliance & Long-Term Care
Spectacles are distributed in person and referrals are tracked to ensure students receive appropriate care.
Follow-up visits assess whether students have complied with spectacle use or hospital referrals.
Non-compliance is addressed through counselling, and all students are monitored through periodic and annual follow-ups to ensure sustained visual health.
